"Therefore we will no fear, though the earth give away and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea."
Psalm 42: 2
Dear Highly Beloved Child of the Living God.
How many of us live in fear? Fear that we may loose our job, fear of being lonely, fear of getting sick, fear that you have not done the right thing by your family, your children. There are many more fears, and sometimes fear is crippling and debilitating.
God has not given us a Spirit of Fear, but a Spirit of Victory to be victorius in our everyday lives.
My children played basketball and were good, one went on to get a scholarship for college, but on game nights they were crippled by fear! We put at stop to that!
They feared what their coach would say to them if they missed a bucket, they feared they were not going to make the bucket, they feared what their teamates would say, and this crippled them where they would really do nothing because of fear. After seeing their potential, and trying to figure out what was going on, we asked "why didn't you take that shot?" (they knew exactly what shot we were talking about) their answer " I felt I would miss and what was coach going to say to me". Wow.
This fear to us was irrational, but to our children it was very real. They got paralyzed.
We had to take time and go over everything they feared; the coach...vindictive person, had his favorites on the team...prayed and prayed for the coach for we could not change the coach, but the Lord did.
They feared their own skills, showed them the Bible verse where God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of victory. Typed it and place it on their mirror so they could repeat it daily. We also prayed for God to take this fear away, to reassure them of their skills. After what seemed like a slow process, they finally gave God their fear, and became victorious. They became highest defender, their shooting was effortless stream lined, and got rewarded with a college scholarhips. God turned an ugly situation around for the good.
No matter what your fear is, give it to God, let him work it our for you. Give him your panic attacks, your loneliness, He will give you victory.
